32 Weeks 2 Days

How Far Along:   32 weeks and 2 days

Size of Baby: Almost 4 lbs and 19 inches

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Not sure, 2 weeks ago I was up 13 lbs, but I haven't weighed myself in the last two weeks (just too busy!)

Maternity Clothes: Maternity clothes plus regular clothes in a size up.

Movement: This baby definitely likes to hang out right around my right rib.  On the red eye from CA to NY, I learned that baby King prefers the night for activity.  Specifically aerobics that involve using my ribs as a spring board.

Sleep:  Still sleeping pretty good.

What I miss:  Bending over normally. Beer.

Cravings:  Salt and potatoes

Symptoms:  Not as mobile, but still feeling pretty great. This is definitely a blessing considering the number of things going on in our lives right now.

Best Moment this week:  LUCAS becoming an M.D.!!! Family in town, seeing our house in NY. Maternity/graduation photo session (can't wait to get the pictures back!)

Random Updates: The last two weeks have been SO busy (so no updates).  Lucas and I traveled to NY to check out our new home, then I moved right on to a 3 day conference in Boston where I once again experienced elephant legs (luckily they disappeared).  Then we came home and the parties for Lucas' graduation began.  We've had over 20 people in town to celebrate with.  Our house is pretty bare, so we hang by the King's hotel pool.

and I will miss them dearly come July. Of course, they will be replaced by all sorts of new things!

30 Weeks 2 Days

How Far Along:   30 weeks and 2 days

Size of Baby:  Over 3 lbs.  Baby King is expected to gain 1/2 pound every week for the next 7 weeks!

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Up 13 lbs from the start.  My doc says this is A-OK since I don't have any water retention (my rings are actually falling off!)

Maternity Clothes: Mostly maternity clothes, although I still can wear non-maternity shirts if they are one size up and extra long.

Movement: Lots of movement.  This babe is really nice though because I think he/she prefers wiggling to punching.  I haven't had too many painful kicks, just lots of shifting around in there.  Has the hiccups at least once a day!

Sleep:  Sleeping wonderfully minus my bathroom trips.

What I miss:  Nada.

Cravings: I don't think I had anything too crazy this week going on.  We've been eating pretty well the last few weeks (lots of salads, lean meat etc).  I still indulge in a desert though every day.

Symptoms:  Tired afternoons, but still feeling pretty good.  I think walking 2-3 miles a day really is helping keep any swelling at bay, plus it helps with my energy level.

Best Moment this week:  My first baby shower! Baby King was spoiled!

Random Updates: Lucas and I are definitely in the craigslist business.  We've been making a few sales here and there every couple of days.  Still have a couple of things to go: a dresser, armoire, fan, lawn mower and washer and dryer.  But things are starting to get packed away.

Picture for the week.  Starting to get more questions from strangers (when are you due? are you scared? is your back starting to hurt? can I help you with those groceries?)

Redlands Baby Shower

On Saturday, I had my first baby shower with great friends in Redlands.  It's still somewhat unbelievable to me that it was a baby shower for my baby.  It just still does not really feel real to me! Although with gear in hand now, I'd better start thinking about life come July!

It was a gorgeous day... and we had a great backyard to enjoy (thanks Poortengas!)

Two of my besties from Westmont (we missed you, Mia)!

Brenda, my Beautiful Africa friend!

Susanne, party planner extraordinaire, had a craft planned...onesie designs.  But no puffy paint here... the onesies were decorated with super cute fabric cut out designs and iron on appliques.

I loved that everyone made something unique and all had each of their own personalities incorporated (from left to right: snuggly bunny by Debbie, Sweet Pea by Katie B., A King's Crown by Amy, and Lederhosen by Casey)

More of the onesie designs (Ice Cream by Katie V., Africa by Brenda, Sailboat by Becca, and Stethoscope by Katie F.)

Last but not least (California by Susanne, and another Katie F. original "Hug Me")

Me and one of the hostess, Becca

It was such a great afternoon and Baby King and I were truly spoiled.  Thanks to all my friends here! I am truly blessed by each and everyone of you!

29 Weeks 2 Days

Weeks just keep going by and I realize that i haven't had a non-pregnancy blog update in quite some time! Maybe this week?

How Far Along:   29 weeks and 2 days

Size of Baby: Just under 3 lbs and about 17 inches long.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Up 13-14 lbs from the start.

Maternity Clothes: Mostly maternity clothes, although I still can wear non-maternity shirts if they are one size up and extra long.  I've been dress hunting for the last couple of weeks with little success unfortunately!

Movement: Definitely lots of moving around going on in there.  I am always so curious as to what position the baby is in since I often times have things that protrude out of my stomach (is that a foot, an elbow, a knee??)

Sleep:  Sleep has been great the past few nights after a week of being sick.

What I miss:  Nothing this week!

Cravings: Back to french fries again, but haven't indulged in awhile.

Symptoms:  Pretty tired by the time 4pm rolls around.

Best Moment this week:  My first mother's day, well sort-of mother's day! Lucas picked some flowers and wrote a very sweet card on my last mother's days without a little one in my arms.

Random Updates: Our life is pretty boring and mostly consists of packing.  We've got lots of things coming up though in the next few weeks: trip to NY, conference in Boston, baby showers, graduation, Santa Monica, maternity shoot etc.  It's going to be very busy our last few weeks here!

28 Weeks and 2 Days...plus beach trip!

How Far Along:   28 weeks and 2 days

Size of Baby: 2.5 lbs and almost 16 inches long.  The babe is blinking, coughing (I have a cough myself this week!), sucking, hiccuping and practicing breathing.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Up 13 lbs from the start.

Maternity Clothes: Yes - some regular shirts.  Tried shopping for a graduation dress with Lucas last night that was NOT successful.

Movement: Yep - don't get too many kicks, but lots of wiggles.

Sleep:  Not great this week because I have been sick.

What I miss:  Sleeping on my back when I'm congested.

Cravings: I think I have been eating pretty normally the last few weeks.  I have really enjoyed lemonade though, something that I normally would not drink.

Symptoms:  Tired in the afternoons, not the most restful sleep.

Best Moment this week:  Officially hitting the 3rd trimester.  Some books say 27 weeks, others say 28 weeks.  So no matter what, I am officially in my last trimester (which is exciting and sad all at the same time!)

Random Updates: Lots of Craigslist sales this week.  Working on listing more things (including TONS of Lucas' medical school books - so if any of you 2 readers are thinking about going back to school, make us an offer).

Pics for the week including a trip to dog beach with Bentley on Saturday!

Definitely getting larger...

I don't love these pics, but gotta keep it real and documented!

Again, an example of the slimming effect of black.

And the beach trip.... Dog Beach (Huntington Beach)
Bentley actually went out to the sandbar, which is a huge success since he had to wade through  some higher water (he is not a water dog)
Taking a break after his swim. Take a look at that drool.

Enjoying the sun and a day on a CA beach

Lucas reading House of God, supposedly a must read before intern year.

Gotta get some sun on that belly.  Bentley wouldn't sit right next to us (too cool).
This was after we gave him our "5 minute till we are leaving" warning. He's good training for a child.
Stopped by the "Wedge" (Newport Beach) to check out the surf before we left

Bentley is excited to move to a different beach.
